COURSE:

Same as the course used since 2003:

The start and finish line will be on the soccer fields, the runners will circle the soccer field 1 ¾ times then they will exit the field through a 13-foot wide gate turning right.  They will then run 2 full long loops around the park on the gravel trails turning into the field and finish with a diagonal dash across the fields.

A course map will be available in the packet at pick up. (Also available through the Fulton County School Cross Country Championship web site fultoncounty.chattxc.com.)

ENTRY FEEs:

We have adjusted the entry fees to provide for easier access to the meet for the smaller programs and to spread added expenses associated with the number of runners (EMT, Sanitation, etc.) across larger programs. (Please contact Coach Harris if this adjustment will negatively impact your participation. Our goals are, first to have all the county high schools participate and second to limit our booster clubs loss.)

$60 Up to fourteen competitors
$100 Fifteen to twenty eight competitors
$140 Unlimited competitors

The budget and associated expenses will be made available upon request to the Chattahoochee Booster Club treasurer. This request can be made through the race contacts identified below.

Please make checks payable to:

Chattahoochee High School Cross Country Booster Club

Please mail your entry fees by Monday, September 29th, through Fulton County Schools mail, care of Danny Brock at River Trail Middle School.

 Ø      Best Overall Program Award

The tradition of this award established 10 years ago continues.  One trophy for the Best Overall Program will be given at the end of the awards ceremony.

Scoring for this award will be the same as all previous years as follows:

In the JV races:

1st place team-----3 pts

2nd place team-----2 pts

3rd place team-----1 pt

In the Varsity races:

1st place team-----5 pts

2nd place team-----3 pts

3rd place team-----2 pts

4th place team-----1 pt

The tie breaking criteria for the Best Overall Program Award will be as follows and will be used in the order listed:

1) Lowest total adjusted score in the 2 varsity races
If still tied, 2) Lowest total adjusted score in the 2 JV races
If still tied, 3) Lowest total placement of each schools 6th runner in each of the varsity races.
If still tied, 4) Lowest total placement of each schools 7th runner in each of the varsity races.
If still tied, 5) Lowest total placement of each schools 6th runner in each of the JV races.
If still tied,  6) Lowest total placement of each schools 7th runner in each of the JV races.
7) Same criteria as number 6 (six) listed above except for the lowest total for the 8th runners in the JV races, and if still tied the 9th runners and if still tied the 10th runners and so on until the tie is broken.  If one school does not have a runner to counter the other school’s runner, then they lose this tiebreaker by default.
8) Heck, if it’s still tied after all that, we’ll flip a coin.

OFFICIALS:

USATF officials will handle the start and manage the finish chute and the scoring of the meet. They will also police the course for rules infractions. In order to provide course policing, per the officials request, we have committed to utilizing numbers for easy identification of runners involved with infractions.

FIELD USAGE:

BUS PARKING:

Buses can drop off in the parking area adjacent to the lower soccer fields. Bus parking location will be provided to the drivers as they drop off the athletes.

PARENT/SPECTATOR PARKING:

Parking may be at a premium because of the public nature of the park. Let your parents know that they should arrive early. They may park in either of the first two lots (two entries per lot) as you enter the park.  They are located at either end of the soccer fields. There will be volunteers to help identify overflow parking options.

DIRECTIONS TO WEBB BRIDGE PARK:

ROSTER SUBMISSION:

Please email a copy of your roster by Friday, September 26th. Please follow-up with a list of expected Varsity runners by Wednesday October 1st. This will allow time for determination of JV Race allotment and organization of the tags, pins, etc. (There may be an electronic form available on the county meet website).

TAGS FOR SCORING RACES:

HOLDING FOR WEATHER DELAYS:

There will not be an ability to make up the meet. The meet director may adjust the starting times, racing order, and/or make-up of the race in consultation with the coaches in the case of a delay.

T-SHIRTS:

There will be Fulton County Championship T-Shirts available.

PLEASE CLEAN UP:

We ask that you have your kids police your areas leaving the park in better condition than it was found.  Trash bags will be put into your packets.  If we do a good job of this, the likelihood of us being allowed to continue holding the meet at this site increases.

QUESTIONS/ PROBLEMS/ CONCERNS:

Please feel free to call me with any of these.  Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all on 10/4/2008.
