We have two weeks, with two long hard days, two interval hard days and a Predator Run to continue making the improvement we need to not only shatter our personnel records, but to prepare to compete for the five County Championships available... Those workouts along with our speed work and recovery runs are critical to continuing the momentum!!! Be prepared metnally and physically and the results we have been  looking for will continue to come...

(Splits, etc, will be available tomorrow afternoon)

Hooch Cross Country pays a visit to Pensacola Beach along with an unwelcome guest “Tropical Depression Number Ten”. Other than a lot of rain and wind that did keep us wet (and busy adjusting our race plans) it didn’t turn out to be much.

The Cougars competed in the 18th annual Seafood 5K, leaving with fifteen of the twenty awards provided to the 14 through 19 age group! The “Hoochie Mamas” walked off with all their age group awards, ten of ten, and the first annual Seafood Festival XC Team Championship!!! The Cougar boys took five of ten and were second to the Florida 3A #1 ranked team. The athletes had a great time competing and bonding, overcoming everything a cross country overnight could throw at them and coming out stronger and more focused on the task at hand as we step closer to our championship races!!!

Girls Varsity sets new team best, Girls JV shatters previous best. Sydney sets all time mark for Berry 19:48... Boys Varsity misses setting new team best by 1.2 seconds... See the 2007 Recaps on the Results page for all the details! (Please review names and times, some folks ran with different chips. Corrections will be made when chip assignments have been worked out.)

Girls Varsity Wins AEB with the #3 all time team average! Sydney M takes over the #2 all time position, running 18:56 her first XC Race! Girls JV set the #3 all time team average for JV, and would have won if JV was scored (if you know your places, please let coach Harris know, they were not reported...) JV Boys set #6 all time team average! Many varsity letters were won! Including freshmen Austin U (with AEB Best freshman time), Helen H and Sara A!

It has begun! Great showing at the 3rd annual Cougar Challenge. Great efforts on the "Toughest Course you will run on this season!". Results Extra Credit... What is the purpose of splits? What did your splits tell you about your race? What is the value of the "change of pace percent split to split"?

Athletes, somewhere near the 615 meter mark my Speed Distance Pod fell off. There is a $20 reward if it is found... Keep your eyes peeled on top of Mt Jerbo, and you may be a bit richer... (no you won't be Mark or Holly...)

Timed-run results are up on the Results page... Great efforts AND TIMES by all!!!

Great turnout for first organized summer practice!

43 Athletes and 2 Alumni!!

"Homework" can be found on the "Workouts" page - Please review the handouts and bring any questions to Friday Mornings practice.

Added a CHS Hall of Fame Sheet to the Hall of Fame page...

Final 2006 Recaps (.xls) . Please let CoachHarris@chattxc.com know if any adjustments are required? (E.g. Who ran with Richer's # at the Coach Wood?)

The trail continues to improve and expand! Second portion of the CHS/TRMS "Big Loop" is well under way. If you see Jerry Jeffers or Bo Reese be sure to thank them and asking them what else needs to be done... We plan on holding our Intersquad meet (first Saturday after school begins) on the Trail this year.

Trail is open... Still much to do, but one great leap forward! The coaches and athletes thank Mr. Jeffers and the entire booster club for such a great training apperatus!
